HGL ART's innovative approach to early childhood education seamlessly integrates art and language immersion to foster holistic development. Immersive Trilingual Learning
At HGL ART, we believe that language immersion is the key to unlocking a child's full potential. Our curriculum is designed to provide a rich and immersive learning experience in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for all three languages. Each classroom teaching team is led by a teacher fluent in Mandarin or Spanish. All students will have immersion in both languages through daily school activities including books, storytelling, songs, games and instructional conversation. Our text-rich classrooms also provide immersive exposure with objects and learning materials labelled in all three languages.
Art and Technology Integration
We understand the powerful connection between art and technology and how it can stimulate young minds. Our innovative curriculum seamlessly integrates these two disciplines, promoting creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and computational skills. By combining traditional art techniques with modern technology, we prepare our students for future educational experiences and the demands of the 21st century. For example, children may use digital tools to create animations or design virtual worlds, applying their artistic skills to new and exciting contexts. This interdisciplinary approach fosters a well-rounded education that equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
HGL ART’s World Art Curriculum
Our unique World Art Curriculum, developed and led by experts in the field of art education, takes students on a global journey through the history and cultures of art. Children explore diverse artistic traditions from around the world, learning about different materials, techniques, and styles. They create their own artwork inspired by famous artists and cultural movements, developing a deeper understanding of the role of art in society and the power of artistic expression. Through our World Art Curriculum, children develop a global perspective and a lifelong appreciation for the beauty and diversity of art from around the world.
HGL ART Preschool’s World Art Curriculum values process over product. While young children can and do produce aesthetically beautiful artwork, the developmental focus is placed on the process of creating art and exploring the materials involved in each project over the outcome produced. Children in our art program will work with drawing tools, a variety of paint media, pastels, printmaking techniques, fiber arts and weaving, claywork and sculpture, object building and construction, and more. Some projects will be individual, and others will be created collaboratively.
Social-Emotional Well-being
We prioritize the social emotional wellbeing of our students. Our curriculum is designed to foster empathy, cooperation, and resilience. We approach SEL learning through classroom activities such as direct instruction on communication tools, team-building group projects, role-playing exercises, and teacher-modeled interactions.
Hands-On Learning
Our innovative curriculum is designed to educate the whole child. At HGL ART Preschool children will use their bodies, minds, and hearts to explore new ideas, solve creative problems, and develop their critical thinking skills. Our curriculum offers hands-on activities for children including imaginative and dramatic play, sensory-rich Science and Art opportunities, engaging social language immersion, and a unique and stimulating environment that features an interactive STEM wall and art installation elements. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and engaged while learning together in an inspiring environment.
Preparing for the Future
HGL ART Preschool prepares children for a successful transition to elementary school by providing a solid foundation in academics, arts, and critical thinking skills. By fostering language skills, critical thinking abilities, and artistic expression, we are empowering our students to embark on the next chapter of their educational journey with confidence. Our curriculum is aligned with common core state standards. HGL ART Preschool’s Exmissions staff is available to advise families with the next step in their kindergarten placement journeys.
